Ablakwa announces safe return of Ghanaians from Israel; Critical Staff remain for Consular support

ABLAKWA

Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has announced that Ghanaian citizens residing in Israel who expressed interest in returning home have been safely evacuated.

The minister in a Facebook post noted that the evacuation covered some diplomatic staff of Ghana’s embassy in Tel Aviv.

However, the government has decided to leave behind a few critical staff for necessary consular support.

He expressed gratitude to the Israeli and Egyptian authorities for the cooperation in successfully evacuating the Ghanaian citizens back home.

He also welcomed those who have safely returned back to Ghana.

“We warmly welcome our compatriots who arrived in Ghana a few hours ago.

The Mahama Administration will continue with safe evacuation efforts as we prioritize the welfare of all Ghanaians.”

Our evacuation operation in Israel has been a success.

We have safely evacuated all Ghanaians who expressed the desire to be assisted by the Government of Ghana out of Israel back home.

The evacuation also covered some diplomatic staff of Ghana’s Embassy in Tel Aviv as Government has decided to leave behind a few critical staff for necessary consular support.

I convey our appreciation to Israeli and Egyptian authorities for the cooperation.

We warmly welcome our compatriots who arrived in Ghana a few hours ago.

The Mahama Administration will continue with safe evacuation efforts as we prioritize the welfare of all Ghanaians.
