A tragic incident occurred in the Effutu Municipality of the Central Region where bees attacked and fatally injured Emmanuella Quainoo, a final-year student of Winneba A.M.E. Zion Girls’ School.
According to eyewitnesses, the bees attacked the student in the school compound around 5:00 pm.
Despite efforts to rush her to the hospital, she was pronounced dead early this morning at Winneba Truma and Specialist Hospital.
Eyewitnesses recounted that they saw students fleeing the scene, and shortly after, Emmanuella was found lying unconscious on the floor.
Attempts to get help from the Winneba Fire Service were unsuccessful due to a broken-down fire tender, and the Apam Fire Service arrived too late to be of any assistance.
The victim’s death was confirmed at Winneba Trauma Hospital.
Emmanuella’s grandmother, Vida Ayi Mensah, expressed shock at the news, revealing that her granddaughter had been sent to retake her WASSCE after failing science in the previous year’s examination.
