Police conduct a successful anti-robbery operation at Ejura; one suspect dead.

A suspected armed robber has died following an intelligence-led operation at Ejura in the Ashanti Region.

The Police Intelligence Directorate conducted a special anti-robbery operation at Ejura on 18th March 2026 to arrest members of a robbery gang who have been terrorising residents and commuters and have been involved in a series of robberies in the area.

One of the suspects, Amadu, also known as “Manu”, sustained gunshot wounds during the operation and was later pronounced dead.

The suspect has been linked to a robbery attack on 14th March 2026 along the Atebubu–Ejura highway, where the robbers fired into a moving vehicle and injured a passenger.

Exhibits retrieved from the suspect include a single-barrelled gun, five live cartridges, a Tecno Pop 10 mobile phone, and a cash sum of GH¢200.

The police added that the operation has been intensified to arrest other members of the gang and bring them to justice.
