The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has arrested two individuals in connection with the daylight robbery incident at the Dzorwulu community.
In a press statement released on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, the police confirmed the arrest of two men, Abubakar Mamoud and Mahmoud Abdul Aziz (also known as Justin Martin), in connection with the robbery of a jewellery shop located near the Nyaho Clinic.
The incident, which occurred on September 11, 2025, involved two armed men on a motorbike.
According to police reports, the suspects stormed the shop, assaulted a staff member, and smashed the glass display doors before escaping with an undisclosed amount of assorted jewellery.

According to the police, the arrests were the result of a “sustained intelligence gathering” operation led by a specialised team from the CID headquarters.
The duo was tracked down and apprehended on February 24, 2026, in Anyaa, a suburb within the Greater Accra Region.
The police retrieved a hammer and a black face mask, a toy pistol, specialised equipment: a gold detector, a diamond detector, and a gold weighing scale; a backpack, hand gloves, and a helmet; and two motorbikes believed to be used in the operation.
During interrogation, Mamoud and Aziz reportedly admitted to the crime.
They also identified a third party, known only as Eddy of Oyarifa, as the person who received the stolen jewellery. Police have launched a manhunt to locate and arrest the alleged receiver.
The two suspects remain in police custody and are scheduled to appear in court tomorrow, Thursday, March 26, 2026.
The statement was signed by Chief Inspector Brigitte Babanawo, the Public Relations Officer for the CID, who emphasised that the police are committed to tracking down all individuals involved in the criminal chain.
