Police in search of individuals who defaced artworks created by visual arts students at AshantiFest

The police in Asokwa, Ashanti Region, are on a manhunt for individuals who defaced artworks created by visual arts students at the Asokwa Interchange.

The artworks were part of the AshantiFest 2026 celebrations, initiated by Ashanti Regional Minister Dr Frank Amoakohene.

According to the municipal chief executive, Amo Kamel, the act was unfortunate, and he referred to the culprits as “nation wreckers”.

He disclosed that the police have launched an investigation into the matter.

He said the service is reviewing CCTV footage to identify those responsible.

The Ashanti Regional Minister also condemned the incident and accused elements within the New Patriotic Party of being behind the defacement.
