Police records indicate that a formal report was lodged on the night of March 27, 2026, around 9:30 pm. The incident reportedly took place in the Bakano suburb of Cape Coast.

Following the report and the emergence of the video evidence, officers proceeded to the scene to effect an arrest.

Chief Inspector Isaac Evans Ettie, representing the Public Affairs Unit for the Central Region, confirmed that Acquah is currently in police custody and is “assisting with investigations”.

The swift response by the regional command appears to be part of a broader effort to crack down on domestic violence and gender-based assaults, which often gain traction through digital evidence before reaching official channels.

Samuel Bills Acquah is scheduled to be arraigned before court tomorrow, March 30, 2026, where he will face formal charges related to the assault.

The victim’s current condition has not been detailed in the official release, but the police have assured the public that the matter is being handled with the necessary urgency to ensure justice is served.
