The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) has refuted allegations circulating on social media that it expended GH¢9 million on a turkey berries production programme, describing such claims as unfounded.
In a statement, the agency clarified that no such programme exists under its auspices. This clarification follows reports alleging that the agency had allocated a substantial sum for the cultivation of the crop.
Suadique Musah, Director of Corporate Affairs at YEA, dismissed the claims as false and misleading, emphasising that the agency has not embarked on any initiative related to turkey berries production and no payments of that nature have been made.
“No such programme exists at YEA; no such payment was made,” Suadique Musah said, categorically refuting the allegations.
He has therefore asked the public to rely only on verified information from official sources.
Meanwhile, he has assured the Ghanaian public that YEA remains committed to transparency and accountability in managing public funds.
He stated that all its programmes and expenditures are properly documented and subject to scrutiny.
He expressed worry that misinformation like this could undermine public trust in government institutions.
Suadique Musah appealed to the media and members of the public to exercise caution in sharing unverified reports.
