The Fix the Roads in Buluk Movement has commended MP for Builisa South, Dr Clement Apaak, following the resumption of work on the stalled Chuchuliga–Fumbisi road project.

The group described the contractor’s return to site as a positive response to sustained public advocacy and engagement with key stakeholders.

In a press statement, it praised the collaborative efforts that led to the revival of the critical road project, which had previously been abandoned.

“We express our sincere appreciation to the government, the Honourable Member of Parliament, and all relevant stakeholders whose collective efforts have led to the contractor’s return to site,” the statement said.

The Movement noted that the restart of construction demonstrates responsiveness to citizens’ concerns, adding that the development reflects the impact of consistent civic advocacy.

“This is a clear demonstration of commitment to addressing the concerns of citizens and underscores the value of constructive civic engagement,” it stated.

The group also welcomed the contractor’s decision to execute the project in phases, covering key stretches including Chuchuliga to Sandema, Gbedema to Fumbisi, and Fumbisi to Wiisi.

According to the statement, this phased approach is expected to improve efficiency and accelerate completion.

“We are particularly encouraged by the contractor’s innovative approach to executing the project in phases. This strategy is expected to enhance efficiency and accelerate progress,” the group said.

Despite the optimism, the movement urged strict adherence to quality standards and timelines to ensure the project delivers long-term value to residents.

It stressed that monitoring efforts would continue until the road were fully completed.

“We urge the contractor to ensure that the highest standards of quality are maintained while adhering strictly to the stipulated timelines,” it added.

The group further called on the Member of Parliament to prioritise the rehabilitation of other feeder roads in the district to improve transportation and economic activity across the Buluk area.
