Market queen mothers in Kumasi have warned trader associations to cease pressuring President Mahama over the completion of the Kejetia Phase II market project.
During a press conference, the group argued that the current administration’s progress on infrastructure significantly surpasses the developments seen over the previous eight years.
Adwenehemaa Grace Agyei Darko highlighted that following the success of the Atonsu, Asawase, and Kejetia Phase I projects, the President has successfully revitalised long-dormant sites.
She noted that contractors have returned to work on the Kejetia extension and the Krofrom Market, the latter of which had been stalled for nearly 19 years.
While some traders recently demonstrated to demand a faster completion, the queen mothers maintained that the current pace is commendable.
They expressed firm confidence in the administration’s commitment to the Ashanti Region, asserting that the Krofrom Market is on track to host traders by Christmas and calling for an end to the “undue pressure” from critics.
