Adamus Resources Limited Rebuts Illegal Mining Allegations

April 27, 2026

Adamus Resources Limited has formally refuted claims of engaging in illegal mining, an accusation that recently prompted the government to take drastic regulatory action.

Through the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, the government revoked the company’s mining leases, citing these alleged illicit activities as the primary justification.

However, the company has categorically denied these charges, maintaining that the revocation of its licences was carried out without due process and was founded on allegations that misrepresent the reality of its operations.

In a statement, the company acknowledged the cancellation of its leases across the Akango, Salman, and Nkroful concessions, noting that it was responding “in the interest of accuracy and public clarity.”

The firm asserts that it operates as a fully licensed entity, maintaining valid permits within Ghana’s established regulatory framework.

This includes all necessary approvals from the Minerals Commission and the Environmental Protection Agency, in strict accordance with the Minerals and Mining Act, 2006 (Act 703).

“The company strongly rejects the allegations that have been cited as the basis for the revocation and states that they do not reflect the true facts surrounding its operations,” the statement clarified.

Furthermore, Adamus Resources described the Ministry’s intervention as a significant breach of procedural fairness. The company contends that it was never formally notified of the specific complaints, nor was it granted a platform to defend its conduct.

“The company was not formally notified of the specific allegations and was not afforded the opportunity to address same as required by the mining laws of Ghana,” the statement continued. It argued that such a move fundamentally undermines “established principles of fairness and administrative justice,” especially regarding significant, long-term investments.

Reiterating its stance on lawful conduct, the company stated that it “categorically denies any involvement in illegal mining activities or unlawful subcontracting,” while reaffirming its commitment to “strict adherence to Ghana’s laws and regulations.”

Adamus Resources is now engaging with the relevant authorities to resolve the dispute and expressed confidence that “a full and fair examination of the facts will demonstrate its compliance with applicable law.”

Moving forward, the company signalled its intention to take all necessary measures to protect its legal rights while continuing to pursue constructive dialogue with its stakeholders.
