Commuters and residents along the forest Ano-Kasapin stretch in the Ahafo are complaining bitterly about poor road conditions and weak mobile network coverage.

The road linking towns like Kokofu, Nyankomago, Prepra, Kuromu, etc., and then also Bediako to Kasapin is riddled with potholes, while phone calls often fail.

Residents say the situation affects business. Farmers and traders plying the Kokofu to Kasapin road in Ahafo say poor roads and bad networks are killing business.

Trucks and cars break down during rain seasons due to the bad stretch, while drivers can’t reach buyers because calls don’t go through in those areas or towns.

The poor state of Kokofu Road coupled with a weak mobile network is raising safety fears in Ahafo.

Residents say when there’s an accident or health emergency between towns, it helps delay cars and ambulances, and phone calls fail. They want the minister to prioritise it.

The affected communities are appealing to the government and the ministry of roads and highways, as well as the national communications authority, to intervene and end their daily struggles with transportation and communications.
