Emmanuel Bawa, the Club Administrator for Ashanti Gold 04, has praised his team’s exceptional performance following their successful promotion to the Ghana Premier League.
He asserted that the squad are fully prepared to face and overcome any opponent, attributing their success to the intensive “head work” and strategic planning invested during the off-season.
Reflecting on the journey through the Zone Two League, he noted that while it was a notoriously difficult group to navigate, the unwavering sacrifice of the players and the technical staff ultimately secured their top-flight status.
In a recent interview with Rainbow Sports, Bawa expressed confidence in the club’s infrastructure and mindset. He stated, “We are ever ready for the league both on the pitch and off the pitch. If you had followed our operations, you would discover that the team stands ready for any competition. So, for the Premier League, we are ever ready to compete.”
He took the opportunity to reassure the club’s loyal following that the team is primed for the challenge, though he emphasised that continued fan support would be vital for their success.
Acknowledging the vibrant atmosphere in Obuasi, Bawa noted that the local supporters are thrilled by the team’s recent gains. He offered a firm assurance that the club would not disappoint the fans who have remained steadfast over the years.
This optimism extends to his belief that the squad possesses the necessary quality to win the Premier League in the upcoming season.
When questioned regarding the club’s financial readiness and overall preparations, Bawa were emphatic about their ambitions.
He declared, “We are ever ready to win the Premier League for Obuasiman. If we were not ready or prepared, we would not have secured a place in the League. The supporters have asked us to win the League and secure a place in the CAF Confederation Cup.”
Bawa added by issuing a warning to established top-flight rivals, suggesting they should be wary of the newly promoted side.
He stressed that they are entering the league to be active title contenders rather than mere participants.
He reiterated this stance by saying, “We are ever ready. The technical team is ready. We have the quality of players who are ready to make a mark in the Premier League.”
FC AshantiGold ’04 have officially secured promotion to the 2026–27 Ghana Premier League following a commanding 4–1 home triumph over Skyy FC.
Their qualification was confirmed by Ebusua Dwarfs’ 2–0 away loss to Sefwi All Stars, which left the second-placed side trailing by 11 points with only three matches remaining.
Since only nine points are left to play for, the Miners’ position at the summit of Zone Two is now unassailable.
AshantiGold ’04 will return to the top flight alongside Port City, who have already confirmed their promotion from Zone Three.
