The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has executed a series of co-ordinated, intelligence-led raids across the Greater Accra and Oti regions, resulting in multiple arrests and the seizure of suspected illicit substances over the weekend.

In Accra, the anti-drug operation targeted specific locations in Kissieman, Dome, and Kwabenya.

Details emerging indicated that officers recovered quantities of illegal drugs and incriminating evidence during the sweeps, which form part of an intensified nationwide crackdown on trafficking and substance misuse within densely populated urban areas.

The suspects detained during the Accra raids remain in custody to assist with ongoing enquiries. Meanwhile, NACOC investigators are working to map out and dismantle the broader criminal syndicates responsible for distributing narcotics in these sectors.

Concurrently, a separate enforcement action was carried out in Alavanyo, situated in the Oti Region, yielding further arrests and drug seizures.

Following these operations, NACOC reiterated its commitment to tackling the country’s escalating drug problem, warning those involved in the illicit trade that they will face the full force of the law.
