The Ghana Health Service, through the Port Health Unit at Accra International Airport, on Wednesday May 27, 2026, warmly received and screened the fiest batch of Ghanaians who voluntarily returned home from South Africa following recent tensions and safety concerns affecting some foreign nationals in parts of the country.
Upon arrival, health officials conducted temperature checks on every passenger as part of measures to ensure their safety and wellbeing.
A mini-clinic was also set up at the airport to provide immediate medical attention for any traveller who felt unwell during the journey.
To further protect the returnees and the general public, each passenger was provided with a face mask and hand sanitiser while health personnel educated them on the importance of observing personal hygiene and safety protocols as they went through the arrival process, especially for children, expectant mothers and the elderly.
They were advised to report to the nearest health facility in the coming days should they face any health challenges.
The exercise forms part of the commitment of the Ghana Health Service to safeguarding the health and wellbeing of all travellers entering the country.
