Health Minister Kwabena Mintah Akandoh has announced that 8,000 newly recruited health workers will begin work by July as final placement processes wrap up.
The Minister noted that the government is ensuring a smooth onboarding process and expects remaining administrative procedures to conclude within the month.
“I don’t want to give a specific date, but at the latest, I think by July we should be done with it,” Akandoh stated. “We are looking at them starting work in July.”
To streamline deployment and resolve applicant concerns regarding postings, the Ministry will soon publish the names of all recruited personnel alongside their assigned interview locations.
“We are going to publish all the names and where they’ll be going for their interviews,” he said, adding that successful candidates would be absorbed into the system after completing the required procedures.
Mr Akandoh emphasised that deployment will prioritise underserved rural communities to bridge critical staffing gaps and strengthen local healthcare delivery.
