The body of an unidentified man was retrieved from the Densu River at Tetegu, near Weija, on Monday, marking the second such discovery in the waterway within a week.
Local fishermen discovered the body during a routine expedition and alerted community members, who assisted in recovering it from the water.
The incident has heightened anxiety among local residents, who are already on edge over rising water levels.
The Ghana Water Company recently began spilling excess water from the nearby Weija Dam, causing the Densu River to swell.
Investigations into the man’s identity and the cause of death are ongoing, as community members call for increased safety measures along the riverbank.
