President John Dramani Mahama has cut the sod for the construction of a 24-Hour Economy Market at Assin Bereku in the Assin North District of the Central Region, marking a major step in Government’s drive to expand trade, create jobs, and stimulate economic growth.
The modern market, which forms part of the Government’s nationwide plan to construct 261 markets across all districts, will include a day-care centre, clinic, cold storage facilities, warehouses, a lorry station, Police and Fire Service posts, a restaurant, pharmacy, improved sanitation systems, market management offices, and 24-hour banking services.
President Mahama noted that the project will enhance commercial activity, attract investment, and improve livelihoods in Assin Bereku and surrounding communities.
He reaffirmed Government’s commitment to accelerating development, reducing poverty, and expanding opportunities for all Ghanaians.
