NPP adequately prepared to give NDC double of any violent attacks in 2028 — Aspiring Organizer

An aspiring Greater Accra Regional Youth Organiser for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Michael Edward Wiafe, has warned the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) that he is ready to mobilise and lead party youth to match them with a “proper showdown” should they resort to violence in the 2028 general elections.

He stated that the era of the NPP passively looking on while its members face attacks is over, emphasizing that any aggression targeted at NPP supporters will trigger a far greater response.

Wiafe explained that he understands the political terrain, has evaluated the factors behind the party’s recent regional setback, and is prepared to revitalise the youth wing to secure victory in 2028 for former Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

Addressing election-related security, he asserted that the NPP remains a peaceful party and attributed past electoral clashes to the NDC. He warned the ruling party that NPP members in the region will no longer tolerate physical intimidation.

“From time immemorial, trend analysis of our political spectrum shows that the NPP, as intellectuals, does not engage in any form of election-related violent activities. It is always the NDC doing that, and a typical example was the 2024 elections where the NDC attacked members of the opposition in some areas.

“What I can tell the youth in the Greater Accra Region and even the NDC is that I will not be a Youth Organiser who is timid and allows our party members to be assaulted. I will not watch on and say let us not respond when we are being assaulted. Let me tell you this, Mr Ray, I am not saying we will be violent, but if we are violently attacked and the NDC uses violence against us, I kid you not, we will give them double the dose. We will be adequately prepared. I will not start the violence, but if they come with violence, we will equally meet them with violence,” he told host Eddie Ray on the Weekend Morning Show.

He added: “I will adequately prepare my people and I can assure you that ‘omodi si, metswa’. I am sending a strong signal to the NDC. I will never allow party members to cause chaos, but we are adequately preparing ourselves to meet the NDC boot for boot.”
