The Ministry of Health has ordered the immediate and temporary closure of the Nursing Training College in Techiman Krobo following persistent student unrest and a total breakdown of law and order on campus.

The decision takes effect immediately, with all students directed to vacate the institutional premises peacefully by 5:00 PM today, Wednesday, July 29, 2026. Parents and guardians have been advised to make swift arrangements to transport their wards home.

In an official press release issued by the Head of Health Training Institutions, Tony Goodman, the Ministry explained that the drastic measure became necessary after earlier interventions failed to yield results.

“Despite several meetings, counselling, and appeals by stakeholders including Regional Security Council, the Ministry to encourage dialogue and restore order, some students have continued to engage in conduct that disrupts academic activities and threatens the peace, safety, and orderly administration of the institution,” Goodman stated.

He further noted that the temporary shutdown aims to restore calm, protect lives and public property, and grant authorities the necessary room to evaluate the situation before determining the conditions required for a safe reopening.

“We wish to assure all stakeholders that every effort will be made to resolve the situation promptly,” Goodman added, noting that information regarding the resumption of academic activities will be communicated through official channels in due course.

The Ministry extended its gratitude to parents, staff, and the general public for their cooperation as security authorities and health officials work to restore a disciplined learning environment at the college.
