Lambert Appiah Rockson, popularly known as ‘Sir Cockroach’, former New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Ablekuma South, has described Alfred Okoe Vanderpuije as the constituency’s worst-performing Member of Parliament.

He stated that despite Vanderpuije’s exceptional tenure as Chief Executive Officer of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly, he has failed woefully as a lawmaker. According to Rockson, constituents are calling for the MP’s removal due to his failure to deliver on his mandate.

Speaking to host Eddie Ray on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM’s weekend morning show, Rockson highlighted that the roads in Ablekuma South remain in a deplorable state, despite the MP promising to fix them if elected. He added that Vanderpuije has no chance of winning the seat again because he is unfit for the office.

“I am an objective politician, so I will not be biased. He was exceptional and performed so well as the Mayor of Accra, but he has performed abysmally as the MP for Ablekuma South. He is the worst-performing MP in our history. If we are to rank the MPs, he will not even be in the top 200,” Rockson said.

“The constituents want him out. He has done nothing for the constituency. He promised to repair deplorable roads in the area but has failed. The dust in the area is terrible and killing people. The road that leads to his house is also terrible,” he added.

Rockson reiterated that residents are demanding Vanderpuije be voted out because he lacks what it takes to lead, maintaining that Ablekuma South urgently needs a more competent representative to transform the constituency.
