The Board and Management of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) have formally announced the death of the institution’s Deputy Chief Executive, Dr Dramani Bukari.
In a brief press release, the NPA expressed profound grief over his departure, describing it as an immense blow to the organisation, the wider downstream petroleum sector, and everyone who collaborated with him over the years.
“We are deeply saddened by his departure, but we take solace in the knowledge that he has returned to his Maker,” the statement said.
Extending sympathies to his bereaved family, associates, and colleagues, the authority offered prayers for fortitude during this period of mourning.
“We pray that the Almighty Allah gives us all strength, comfort, and peace in this difficult time. May Allah grant our brother and leader Eternal Rest. Ameen,” the statement said.
Before his elevation to the NPA executive leadership, Dr Bukari served as the Director of Entrepreneurship, Partnerships, and Investments at the Ghana Climate Innovation Centre (GCIC). An accomplished energy expert, he possessed extensive technical expertise spanning energy systems, petroleum pricing, and fuel taxation mechanisms.
An alumnus of higher learning with an MSc in Energy Economics (Distinction) and a PhD in Sustainable Energy Technologies, Dr Bukari also served as a member of the Governing Board of the Ghana Standards Authority until his demise.
