The government has directed the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, the Minerals Commission, and Adamus Resources Limited to prepare a 12-month roadmap to revamp operations at the mine.
The directive follows a high-level meeting at the Presidency convened to resolve an ongoing dispute and salvage one of the nation’s few operating indigenous large-scale mining entities.
As part of the resolution, a six-member management committee comprising three representatives from Adamus Resources and three from the government will be set up to supervise the operational turnaround.
The recovery roadmap will outline a framework to clear outstanding debt obligations owed by Adamus Resources to the Ghana Revenue Authority, the Minerals Income Investment Fund, financial institutions, and commercial suppliers.
Additionally, the plan will explore options for injecting fresh capital into the mining business, including bringing in strategic partners to acquire equity stakes.
Both sides are required to submit the finalized roadmap to the Presidency within two weeks.
The decision was announced in an official statement signed by the Minister for Government Communications and Spokesperson to the President, Felix Kwakye Ofosu.
