President John Dramani Mahama has announced new changes to his government, reassigning key ministerial and advisory positions in his administration.
In a official statement released by Presidency Communications, signed by the Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, MP, the adjustments take immediate effect.
Under the latest changes, Hon. Abdul-Rashid Pelpuo has been moved to a new portfolio as Minister of State for Special Initiatives.
His previous role has been taken over by Hon. Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum, who now serves as the Minister for Labour, Employment and Job Creation.
“Hon. Abdul-Rashid Pelpuo has been reassigned as Minister of State for Special Initiatives while Hon. Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum replaces him as Minister for Labour, Employment and Job Creation,” the statement noted.
Additionally, the President reshuffled the defense leadership, reassigning the Deputy Minister for Defence, Hon. Ernest Brogya Genfi, to the presidency to focus on national security and crisis response strategy.
“The President has also reassigned Deputy Minister for Defence, Hon. Ernest Brogya Genfi… as a Presidential Advisor on National Resilience and Emergency Preparedness,” the statement added, confirming that “the reassignments take immediate effect.”
The realignments reflect the President’s commitment to optimizing governance and enhancing service delivery across key sectors.
