Emmanuel Issah Abudu, Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) USA Chapter and hopeful for the position of Deputy National Youth Organiser, has commended the current leadership of the NDC Youth Wing for what he describes as massive work done since assuming office.
Speaking on Rainbow Radio’s weekend programme, Mr. Abudu acknowledged the efforts of the national youth leadership in mobilising young people, strengthening party structures, and keeping the wing active.
He noted that engaging the grassroots requires immense commitment, sacrifice, and dedication, adding that these achievements should serve as a strong foundation for the next phase of development.
Clarifying his intentions, Mr. Abudu explained that his decision to contest for the Deputy National Youth Organiser role is not intended to discredit the current leadership, but rather to help sustain and build upon their good work.
He stated that the time has come for leaders with fresh ideas, broader experience, and strong connections both in Ghana and abroad to take up responsibilities within the party.
Drawing from his background as a two-term Youth Organiser for the NDC USA Chapter and his ongoing involvement in grassroots activities in Ghana, Mr. Abudu highlighted his deep understanding of the needs of young people.
He recently declared his intention to run once nominations officially open, pointing to key concerns such as unemployment, skills development, access to education, entrepreneurship, and the need for greater youth participation in decision-making.
Looking toward the future, Mr. Abudu emphasized that a stronger connection between Ghana’s youth and the diaspora could open doors to new ideas, modern skills, and international opportunities.
Stressing that the diaspora should be viewed as more than just a source of financial support during elections, he described it as a vital partner in innovation, professional networking, and job creation.
He expressed full readiness to leverage his international experience and contacts to create platforms where young Ghanaians can directly engage with diaspora professionals.
