The Ministry of Education has rescheduled the official release of the 2026/2027 Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) results from Monday, August 31, 2026, to Friday, September 4, 2026.
The extension follows appeals from parents, guardians, students, and Heads of Schools for extra time to upload required student data onto the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and CSSPS portals.
Official data indicates that approximately 20,000 qualified students are yet to have their school choices uploaded by their respective school heads or guardians. The Ministry explained that the adjustment aims to ensure no candidate is disenfranchised due to outstanding data submissions.
The temporary delay will allow all qualified applicants to complete the necessary documentation for placement into Senior High Schools (SHS) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions across the country.
“Ministry data indicates that about 20,000 qualified students have not yet had their school choices uploaded to the CSSPS platform,” stated Press Secretary Hashmin Mohammed. “This extension is intended to ensure that pending data submissions do not prevent these students from participating in the placement process.”
The Ministry strongly urged parents, guardians, and school authorities to utilise the grace period to complete all pending uploads before the new deadline, reaffirming its commitment to delivering a transparent, fair, and orderly placement exercise for all candidates.
