The government, state institutions, and key stakeholders have received warm praise for orchestrating a remarkable financial turnaround across Ghana’s State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) over the past year.

Statistics released by the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA) show that SOEs achieved an impressive combined net profit after tax of GH¢19.8 billion in 2025. This remarkable milestone effectively brought an end to a troubling four-year stretch of consolidated losses, which stood at GH¢2.25 billion in 2024.

Sharing his perspective on Rainbow Radio’s flagship news program, Nyankonton Mu Nsem, economist Isaac Yalley described the dramatic performance shift as a major victory for the national economy and everyone involved.

“This remarkable achievement brings well-deserved news to the government, state agencies, and every single stakeholder who played a role in bringing about this turnaround,” Mr. Yalley noted.

He further pointed out that no single entity could claim sole credit for the achievement, emphasizing that the result stems from a unified strategy across various public sectors.

“We cannot attribute this success to just one institution or a select group of individuals. It is the cumulative result of hard work and collective dedication across board. When you pull together the distinct efforts of every state institution involved, the solid foundation and true scale of this milestone become clear,” he stated.

Mr. Yalley urged state institutions to guard against complacency and maintain the momentum to drive further national development.

“Now is the time for government agencies to work even harder to safeguard these gains and achieve even greater economic strides for the country,” he added.
