The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) and the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) have held high-level discussions aimed at bolstering joint operations against gold smuggling, money laundering, and illegal financial activities within the national gold sector.
Supported by the Ghana-UK Gold Programme, the strategic meeting focused on establishing a formal GoldBod-EOCO Operational Collaboration Framework.
This initiative is designed to create a unified front between the two state bodies to disrupt criminal networks, safeguard the integrity of the country’s gold value chain, and ensure Ghana secures maximum economic benefit from its mineral resources.
Through enhanced intelligence sharing, synchronized enforcement actions, and deeper institutional cooperation, the joint effort seeks to foster transparency, accountability, and long-term resilience across the nation’s gold industry.
