Road inspections aimed at fast-tracking projects, not Fault-finding – Agbodza

September 7, 2026
Agbodza

The Minister for Roads and Highways, Governs Kwame Agbodza, has rejected allegations that the government’s countrywide road monitoring drive is designed to victimise contractors handling various schemes.

He clarified that the visits are meant to evaluate progress, pinpoint hurdles, and urge contractors to speed up operations so work is finished within stipulated deadlines.

Mr Agbodza explained that the administration’s focus on completing active road developments necessitates routine site checks to ensure construction crews stay on track.

Addressing stakeholders on Saturday, September 5, during a working tour of the Northern Region as part of his national road appraisal, he noted that the initiative is already inspiring contractors to step up their momentum.

He further encouraged contractors who might be trailing behind their own benchmarks not to feel demoralised, offering firm assurances that official backing would be extended to keep them on schedule.

“We don’t go around just trying to look for trouble for contractors, but indeed, many of the Big Push contractors and other contractors are doing very well,” Agbodza said

“Don’t worry, with our support, you can also complete your work on schedule,” he said.
