Any penis size can satisfy a woman, so don’t risk your life with enlargement, warns Urologist

Professor Mathew Yamoah Kyei, a prominent consultant urologist, neurologist and surgeon at both The Trust Hospital and the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, stated that complaints regarding penis size stem mostly from mindset rather than physical insufficiency, as any size can satisfy a woman.

He noted that procedures yield a maximum gain of two or three centimetres in circumference and require rigorous screening.

Whether using surgery or temporary filler injections lasting six to 18 months, these treatments carry significant complications, he warned.

Discussing the inherent risks involved, Professor Kyei said: “Penis sizes can be affected by medical conditions or infections; however, for the majority of men who complain about having a small penis, it is simply a mindset issue. We can use surgery to increase the size, but that comes with serious complications. In recent times, we have a newer approach using injections, but this also carries risks. It is important to know that these injections last for only six months to a maximum of one and a half years, after which you must return for another treatment. If the procedure is not performed correctly, it can cause severe problems for the individual by blocking the veins that return blood to the heart, leading to collapse and, in severe cases, death.”

His warnings follow the death of 43-year-old businessman Igho Ubiribo, who suffered a fatal pulmonary embolism after receiving a 40ml injection of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine at a Bangkok clinic.

He warned that botched operations risk permanent impotence and emphasized that elective enlargements are medically unnecessary.

“This procedure is not common. In most instances, those who undergo such operations are patients who have suffered accidents or severe infections requiring reconstructive surgery. Doing it purely for enlargement is rare. Women do not require an unusually large penis to achieve sexual satisfaction. Any size can satisfy a partner, and the size of your penis is simply not significant enough to warrant taking these risks,” he explained.

For patients who insist on the procedure despite medical advice, strict consent forms are required to document the acknowledged risks.

”For men, wanting a large penis is only for showing off. It is just a mindset. It is advisable for men to keep what they have and be content with it. There are several men who go through the process and are still not satisfied with the size. That is why I am advising men not to waste their resources on going for the procedure. Unless it is a medically required procedure, stay away from it. We do our best to talk men out of it. However, for patients who insist on the procedure despite medical advice, strict consent forms are required to document the acknowledged risks. Out of ten men, eight of them are not happy about their sizes, and not because it is small as they claim.”
