The governing New Patriotic Party has finalised and released the official balloting positions for candidates contesting various positions in its upcoming national executive elections.
For the highly anticipated national chairmanship race, former General Secretary John Boadu secured the top spot on the ballot paper as number one. He is followed by Sammy Crabbe at position two, with former chairman Paul Afoko taking the third slot. Former Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko completes the list for the chairmanship contest in the fourth position.
In the General Secretary race, Member of Parliament Sylvester Tetteh picked the first spot, followed by Eugene Boakye Antwi in second place. The incumbent General Secretary, Justin Frimpong Koduah, secured the third position on the ballot, whilst Dr Charles Dwamena, popularly known as Dr China, takes the fourth slot.
The contest for the national treasurership sees Hajia Ruka Ahmed leading the ballot at position one. Alfred Kojo Thompson follows in second place, with Tahiru Moomen occupying the third spot and Collins Nuntwiri Nuamah completing the list in fourth place.
A crowded field of thirteen candidates will battle for the vice chairmanship positions. Dr Mustapha Abdul Hamid leads the ballot at number one, followed by Kwadwo Bamba, Abankwaa Yeboah, and Richard Ahiagbah in second, third, and fourth positions respectively. Alhaji Osman Masawudu, also known as Chairman Buga Buga, secured the fifth spot, followed by Oti Boakye at number six, Abena Pokuaa Boaitey, popularly known as Ejuso Broni, at number seven, and Yaa Amponsah Frimpong, also known as Obaa Yaa, in eighth place. Former National Youth Organiser Henry Nana Boakye, widely known as Nana B, picked the ninth slot, whilst Horma Mieza, Sam Pyne, Nana Akomea, and Bright Essilefi Kumi occupy the tenth, eleventh, twelfth, and thirteenth positions respectively.
campaign activity is also expected to intensify in the race for National Organiser, where Kwame Prempeh, known as Kay Pee, takes the first position on the ballot paper. Daniel Agyenim Boateng comes in second, Archibald Korletey Gamor third, and Nana Kwadwo Agyei Yeboah, also known as Nana Kay, in fourth place. Ali Maiga Halidu picked the fifth spot, with Emmanuel Korsi Bodja taking the sixth position and Glover Daniel Nii Kwartei occupying the seventh spot.
In the youth wing, six aspirants are competing for the National Youth Organiser position. Alfred Kumi Ababio, popularly known as Adenta Kumi, leads the ballot at number one, followed by Vera Oye Bram in second place and Micheal Osei Boateng, known as Pope, in third position. Abanga Fuseini Yakubu picked the fourth spot, Clement Opoku Gyamfi, also known as Kwame Poku CID, took the fifth position, and Chris Lloyd rounded off the list in sixth place.
The National Women’s Organiser contest features a straight battle between two candidates, with Hajia Safia Mohammed securing the top spot on the ballot paper and Mavis Hawa Koomson taking the second position.
For the Nasara Coordinator position, Mohammed Ali Suruj picked the first position on the ballot paper, followed by Issaka Muazu Kunata at number two. Awal Mohammed, Salam Bamba, and Razak Tahiru take the third, fourth, and fifth spots respectively.
The release of the balloting numbers officially clears the path for candidates to intensify their nation-wide campaigns as the party prepares to elect its new national leadership.
