Officers from the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) have arrested three suspects for allegedly representing and facilitating the activities of Dutch fugitive Jos Leijdekkers, widely known as “Bolle Jos,” in Ghana.
The arrests followed a major operation in which French customs intercepted a massive cocaine shipment tied to a wider international syndicate.
According to NACOC, the suspects are currently in custody to aid investigators in probing their involvement in the cross-border trafficking enterprise.
In a official statement released on Monday, 14 September 2026, the Acting Director of Public Affairs and International Relations at NACOC, PNCO Francis Opoku Amoah, emphasised the Commission’s uncompromising stance on international organised crime.
“The arrests reaffirm NACOC’s resolve that Ghana will not be a safe haven, transit point or operational base for international drug-trafficking organisations,” Amoah stated.
He further assured the public that the Commission remains committed to dismantling criminal supply chains through strategic local and international law-enforcement partnerships.
“The Commission will continue working with domestic and international law-enforcement partners to disrupt the people, finances and infrastructure sustaining the illicit drug trade, while safeguarding the rights and legal protections of all persons under investigation,” Amoah added.
Investigations into the matter remain ongoing.
