The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced temporary power outages in parts of the Volta and Central regions to enable the utility provider to carry out maintenance works aimed at improving service delivery.
In the Volta Region, emergency maintenance operations scheduled for Wednesday, 16th September 2026, will affect power supply in Dzoanti, Dafor, Alavanyo, Nkonya, Kwamekrom, Bame, Adofe, Akplamafu, and surrounding communities between 9:00am and 4:00pm. Additionally, an emergency shutdown on the same day will interrupt supply to Dêdedo, Sanga, and nearby areas from 9:00am to 2:00pm.
The power distributor will further undertake planned maintenance in the region on Thursday, 17th September 2026, affecting Dave, Tritrinu, Airport, Wumenu, Akwetey, Kpetoe, Akporkope, Afegame, Ziope, and surrounding locations from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
In the Central Region, an emergency maintenance exercise planned for Wednesday, 16th September 2026, will result in an outage from 9:00am to 4:00pm.
The affected localities include sections of the Winneba roundabout and Winneba Low Cost, Gomoa Bewadze, Gomoa Onyadze, Gomoa Mankwadze, Gomoa Mprumem, Ankamu Junction, Apam District Assembly, Apam Town, Gomoa Mumford, Gomoa Hweda, Gomoa Dago, Gomoa Ajumako, Gomoa Akwakrom, Gomoa Nkransh, Gomoa Obokrom, Gomoa Kumasi, Gomoa Enyame, Gomoa Dankyie, Gomoa Koforidua, Gomoa Dawurampong, Gomoa Nduam, Gomoa Wassa, Gomoa Nkran, Gomoa Esikuman, Gomoa Debiso, Gomoa Darman, Gomoa Abonko, Gomoa Lome, Gomoa Ogun, Asnful, Gomoa Asiebu, Gomoa Pomadzi, New Winneba, Chappers, Gomoa Nyekuadzi, Gomoa Oguaakrom, Gomoa Awombrew, Gomoa Nsueyem, Gomoa Tekyem, Gomoa Panfokrom, Gomoa Adzintem, Gomoa Potsin, Gomoa Dominase, Gomoa Dabanyin, Gomoa Buduatta, Gomoa Amanda, Gomoa Odomase, and adjoining areas.
The power distribution company expressed regret over the inconvenience the planned exercises will cause to residents and businesses in the impacted areas.
