The YAFO Institute will host its flagship initiative, Liberty Sphere 2026, from 23 to 25 September at the Anagkazo Campus, Mampong–Aburi.
The three-day event seeks to bring together university students, journalists, civil society activists, entrepreneurs, policy advocates, and community leaders to engage on individual liberty, free enterprise, public policy, and economic prosperity.
The programme opens with the Liberty Sphere Policy Grounds Training from 23 to 24 September, designed to equip selected young participants with analytical skills and practical tools to engage in public policy.
Through interactive lectures and practical sessions, participants will cover key themes including the foundations of free-market economics, property rights, building lasting businesses, public policy fundamentals, welfarism, research for policy change, and fundraising.
Prominent speakers expected to facilitate training sessions include Prof. Enoch Opoku Antwi (Ghana), Prof. Ken Schoolland (USA), Dr. Albert Kobina Mensah (Ghana), Dr. Eamonn Butler (UK), Mr. Ebenezer Tackie Oblie (Ghana), Li Schoolland (USA), and Nathaniel Dwamena (Ghana).
The institute will also mark the 250th anniversary of Adam Smith’s landmark work under the theme, ‘The Wealth of Nations at 250: Freedom, Enterprise and the Future of Prosperity’.
A major feature of the training is the Battlegrounds Policy Pitch, where participants will compete for up to GH¢6,000 in seed capital by presenting solutions to contemporary policy issues, with awards presented during the Liberty Sphere Dinner and Awards 2026.
The training will culminate in the Liberty Sphere Conference 2026 on 25 September, held under the theme “The Future of Freedom in Ghana” from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
The conference will focus on three main areas: start-up finance and Ghana’s digital economy; women’s leadership, cybersecurity and digital governance; and entrepreneurship, trade and innovation under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
Additional speakers scheduled for the conference include Dr. Ike Tandoh, Haruna-Rasheed Mohammed Esq., Peter Asare Nyarko, Peter Adetor, Angela Okai-Nartey, Maureen Owusu-Addea, Samiratu Mohammed, and Samuel Eze.
The public, media houses, academics, and young professionals are invited to participate in the conference to explore how sound policy and innovation can expand economic opportunities.
