The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) in the Central Region has informed the public of power supply disruptions affecting parts of the region due to a fault and scheduled maintenance works.
According to a statement issued by the power distributor, an ongoing blackout in Bundatta Junction and its surrounding areas within the Winneba District was caused by a damaged transformer.
ECG stated that its technical team is currently working to resolve the problem and restore power to the affected areas as soon as possible.
In a separate notice, the power provider announced that it will conduct emergency maintenance on Thursday, 24th September 2026, from 9:00am to 4:00pm to improve service reliability.
The scheduled power interruption will affect several communities, including Abrem Agona, Efutu Mampong, Ankase, Braase, Abreshia, Wassa Ekutuase, Suhyen, Wassa Edwenase, Ayensudo, Ampenyi, Dwobo, Akwakrom, Abeeye, Nsadwire, Dutch Komenda, Dompuase, Kissi, Sekyere Heman water, Komenda, Sefwi, Ebukrom, Anweem, Dumtu, Kafofzidzi, Aburansa Dominase, Egyie krom, Benyadze Dabir, Breman Saaman, Bronyibima, Sanka, Attabadze, Adu Agyei, and surrounding enclave.
The company expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to customers in the affected communities.
