Ghana and Trinidad and Tobago have signed a bilateral Air Services Agreement designed to establish direct air links and deepen economic ties between the two nations.
The agreement was formalised during a bilateral meeting in New York between President John Dramani Mahama and Trinidadian Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar.
Beyond enhancing aviation connectivity, the accord is expected to unlock fresh opportunities for cross-border cooperation, commerce, and tourism.
During the engagement, the two leaders also reviewed progress on the global reparations agenda, while discussing expanded avenues for bilateral trade and strategic investment.
Commenting on the new agreemebt, President Mahama wrote on Facebook page saying: “I met with Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar, S.C. of Trinidad and Tobago in New York. We signed an Air Services Agreement between Ghana and Trinidad and Tobago. This agreement strengthens air connectivity and creates new opportunities for cooperation between our countries. We also discussed updates to the reparations agenda, trade, and investment”.
