Ghana and Saudi Arabia have committed to strengthening bilateral cooperation, with a sharp focus on boosting investment in key areas including railway development and energy infrastructure.
The agreement was reached during a bilateral meeting held in New York between Ghana’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Excellency Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.
In a statement shared on his official Facebook page, Mr Ablakwa revealed that discussions between the two diplomats centered on expanding the existing diplomatic and economic relations between the two nations.
According to the Foreign Affairs Minister, both countries have agreed to accelerate high-level engagements to drive critical investments aimed at supporting President John Dramani Mahama’s transformative Reset Agenda.
Furthermore, the two ministers resolved to forge closer alignment on key strategic and continental priority issues, particularly as Ghana prepares to assume the Chairmanship of the African Union.
