The Management of the National Lottery Authority (NLA) has issued a final reminder to all Private Lotto Operators (PLOs), agents, and writers regarding the mandatory cessation of manual paper-based lotto operations across the country by Thursday, 1st October 2026.
According to the Authority, the deadline follows an earlier extension granted to allow operators sufficient time to transition from manual paper writing to digital and electronic platforms.
In a public statement issued on Monday, 28th September 2026, the NLA warned that non-compliant operators will face swift enforcement actions and legal sanctions.
“All PLOs, Agents, and Writers who fail to comply with this directive will not be permitted to operate and will face the full rigours of the law,” the statement read.
To facilitate a smooth transition for operators seeking to regularise their business under the new regulatory framework, the Authority has directed interested parties to register as Lotto Marketing Companies (LMCs).
“Those who wish to register as Lotto Marketing Companies (LMCs) should contact our Sales Managers at any of our Regional or District Offices nationwide, or Aisha Tackie on 0247 242 942,” the NLA advised.
The Authority further urged operators and members of the public seeking additional clarification regarding the migration process to contact its customer service helplines on 0266-087-966 or 0266-087-946.
