The full implementation of TRAFFITECH-GH, Ghana’s automated traffic law enforcement system, has been deferred from October 1 to November 1, 2026.
The decision, announced by the Ghana Police Service through the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD), aims to provide extended time for public education regarding the initiative’s operations, the specific offences monitored, and the issuance of Electronic Notices of Violation (ENV).
“TRAFFITECH-GH forms part of efforts by the Service to address indiscipline on Ghana’s roads and improve compliance with road traffic laws and regulations,” stated Deputy Superintendent of Police Richmond Mensah, Staff Officer at the Public Affairs Directorate.
Police authorities have urged all motorists, commercial drivers, and vehicle owners to utilize the additional month to familiarize themselves with the new enforcement procedures before full operations commence.
DSP Mensah added that the service remains grateful to the media and key stakeholders for their continued support as implementation efforts move forward to enhance road safety across the country.
