Firefighters from the Bolgatanga Municipal Fire Station have successfully rescued a driver who became trapped after his loaded tipper truck overturned near the Customs Barrier in the Bolgatanga East District.
The incident involved a tipper truck with registration number GG 4478-21, driven by 35-year-old Mr Sulemana Nangne.
Following an emergency call received at 17:30 GMT, a six-member response team led by Station Officer Grade One (STNO1) Bright Atimbiok was dispatched to the scene, arriving eight minutes later at 17:38 GMT.
The crew immediately launched an extrication operation to free the trapped driver. After nearly two hours of intense effort, Mr Nangne was safely pulled from the wreckage at 19:21 GMT.
He was promptly handed over to the National Ambulance Service and conveyed to the Upper East Regional Hospital for urgent medical treatment.
The Upper East Regional Command of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) confirmed the successful operation in a statement issued on Wednesday.
