Ghana has taken a significant step toward transforming its health sector with the launch of the Expressions of Interest (EOI) process for prospective tenants at the Legon Pharmaceutical Innovation Park (LePIP).
The facility, spanning 2,000 acres, is designed as the country’s premier integrated pharmaceutical innovation park. It aims to establish Ghana as a competitive hub for pharmaceutical manufacturing and innovation across West Africa and the wider continent.
LePIP offers Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)-ready infrastructure alongside shared amenities designed to reduce operational costs for life sciences companies. The park will feature centralised quality-control facilities, robust cold-chain and logistics support, and state-of-the-art research and innovation centers.
The ecosystem is structured to serve a broad range of life sciences sub-sectors. Eligible applicants include pharmaceutical manufacturers, active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) producers, vaccine and biologics developers, nutraceutical and herbal medicine firms, as well as diagnostic and medical device companies.
Tenants situated within the hub are expected to benefit from strategic access to trade opportunities across Ghana, the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) market.
Interested manufacturers and allied life sciences companies must submit clarification queries by 2 October 2026, while the final deadline for Expression of Interest applications is set for 12 October 2026. Prospective tenants can access the response form via the official submission link provided by the management of the park.
