Over 7,000 NPP Delegates Gather at Baba Yara Stadium to Elect National Officers

More than 7,000 delegates of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) will today, Saturday, 3 October, converge at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi to elect national executive officers.

The delegates are expected to cast their votes for a new cohort of leaders who will steer the administrative and political affairs of the party for the next four-year term.

Key portfolios up for contested elections include National Chairman, Vice Chairpersons, National Treasurer, General Secretary, National Organiser, Women’s Organiser, Youth Organiser, and the National Nasara Coordinator.

Meanwhile, the position of National Communications Director will not be put to a vote. Miracles Aboagye has been deemed elected unopposed after emerging as the sole candidate who successfully filed nomination forms when the party officially opened nominations for the national contest.

Security agencies and event organisers have instituted measures at the venue to ensure a seamless process as delegates from across the sixteen regions arrive to exercise their franchise.

Here is the breakdown of candidates approved to contest in the various executive portfolios at the NPP National Delegates Conference:
