The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, has issued a passionate plea to party ranks to bury their grievances and rally together as the opposition outfit targets a return to power in the 2028 general elections.

Addressing delegates on Saturday, October 3, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi during the party’s National Delegates Congress and Officers’ elections, Chairman Odeneho insisted that the national gathering must serve as a turning point to mend internal fractures and fortify organisational structures.

According to him, being in opposition should not divide the party, but rather spur members on to collaborate and revive the political movement’s fortunes.

He cautioned that no single individual owns the NPP, warning members against letting selfish motives compromise the collective goals and future of the party.

“Let us use this conference to put aside our personal differences, combine our strength and work together to rebuild the party. Ladies and gentlemen, the NPP party belongs to all of us. It is our party. It does not belong to any single person. Our great party is not in the best position now. The party is in opposition, a very unpleasant place.

“Our place is in government, not opposition. Our party faces a challenge; therefore, we need to stay united. With determination to build a stronger and better future, as we do this, we must stay focused to deal with our challenge. In times like this, unity becomes a duty.”
