The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has extended its congratulations to the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) following the successful election of its new national executives over the weekend.
In an official statement released in Accra on Monday, 5 October 2026, signed by General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the NDC commended the NPP for reaching the milestone.
The party reaffirmed its commitment to fostering peaceful political engagement and safeguarding the nation’s democratic values.
“The NDC remains committed to the promotion of peaceful political engagement, democratic values and the collective responsibility of all political actors to protect and deepen Ghana’s democratic gains,” the statement read.
The party also expressed hope that the newly elected executive body would prioritise national interests above partisan politics to drive the nation’s development.
“It is the fervent hope of the NDC that under the tenure of this new crop of executives, there will be mutual effort to ensure that the interest of Ghana always surpasses the narrow interest of the two respective parties, so the mission of making Ghana great and strong will be boosted,” Mr Kwetey stated.
