John Boadu has the experience to lead NPP to victory in 2028 – NPP Ireland

Alf Marshall Agyapong, the Chairman of the Ireland branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed strong optimism that the newly elected National Chairman, John Boadu, will lead the party to victory in the 2028 general elections.

He stated that Mr Boadu remains a force to be reckoned with in Ghanaian politics.

He argued that the experienced political figure rose through the ranks from the grassroots, consistently demonstrating commitment, dedication, and sacrifice.

Speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, he noted that the recently held national executive election for the chairmanship was a contest between Mr Boadu—whom he described as a refined politician who worked his way up through the ranks—and Boakye Agyarko, a respected statesman and senior politician.

“The chairmanship race was clearly a two-horse race between Chairman Boadu and Boakye Agyarko, who is a statesman and senior politician. Both were fully capable of leading us and steering affairs to pioneer our flagbearer to victory in 2028,” he said.

“However, Chairman John Boadu was built and tested by the party. He has held all the relevant positions within our administrative structures, and under his stewardship, he helped steer us to victory in two elections, in 2016 and 2020. In politics, you cannot discount experience,” Mr Owusu added.

He noted that the outcome of the election demonstrated that Mr Boadu is the right leader to guide the party back into governance.

“John Boadu has the experience, and the election outcome spoke for itself. He is the man to lead us, win back the hearts and minds of Ghanaians, and bring political administration back to the NPP,” he stated.

Mr Agyapong also criticised the current administration, claiming it has failed to deliver on its promises and is yet to implement any of its flagship policies.

In his view, the NPP remains the only political party capable of implementing impactful social intervention programmes that directly benefit every Ghanaian.

He added that many citizens feel let down by the government, which he said had made wide-ranging pledges but is now struggling to execute them.
