Food and Agriculture Minister Eric Opoku has firmly rejected assertions of a rift between his outfit and the Ministry of Finance, assuring the public that both government bodies are aligned in delivering on the state’s Reset Agenda.

Addressing journalists at a media briefing in Accra, Mr Opoku clarified that occasional institutional friction or gaps in communication should not be misconstrued as systemic opposition between sector ministries.

He emphasized that both institutions share a single overarching mandate tailored toward driving the country’s development priorities under the current administration.

“We are working to actualise the same agenda. The Reset Agenda introduced by His Excellency President Mahama,” he stated.

Putting the inter-ministerial relationship into perspective, the Agriculture Minister noted that minor disagreements are natural in any organizational setting, but they do not disrupt their collective mission.

“You know even in our families, in our small circles, misunderstandings and miscommunications do occur. That never suggests that we are doing separatists. We are working together to actualise the Reset Agenda,” he noted.

Mr Opoku cautioned media practitioners and commentators against fueling unnecessary narrative tension surrounding the working relationship of cabinet ministries.

“Let us not create that erroneous impression that other ministries are working against some ministries,” he added.
