National Chairman hopeful of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Hon. Nii Armah Ashitey, has stated that he will complete all necessary consultations before formally filing his nomination to contest the party’s National Chairmanship position.
According to him, he is still in the process of consulting widely, seeking the support and blessings of party leadership, delegates, and the faithful across the country in his bid to lead the NDC.
Speaking in a mrdia interview, Hon. Ashitey explained that his recent declaration of intention was simply to make the public and party members aware of his ambition, but it does not mean his consultations are complete.
“I recently declared my intentions for the public to know of my intention, but that does not mean I have finished consultations,” he clarified.
The former Minister and respected party stalwart emphasised that he is a man of due process and will ensure that everything necessary and required of him by the party’s constitution and guidelines is fully done before the main campaign officially starts.
He noted that leadership in the NDC requires broad consensus, unity, and respect for party structures, adding that his ongoing consultations are aimed at building a strong and united front for the party ahead of future elections. “Everything necessary and required by me to the NDC will be done before the main campaign starts,” he assured.
Hon. Nii Armah Ashitey further appealed to NDC delegates and supporters to remain calm and focused as he engages stakeholders nationwide, promising to bring his wealth of experience, discipline, and commitment to strengthen the party at all levels if given the nod.
He expressed confidence that with the support of party leadership and the grassroots, the NDC will remain formidable and united under his potential chairmanship.
