Agitated residents of Manso Nsiana in the Amansie West District of the Ashanti Region have issued a three-working-day ultimatum to the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) to take decisive action regarding the fatal shooting of a 30-year-old man at a local drinking spot.

The deceased, identified as Misark Addo, was shot dead under unclear circumstances involving security personnel, sparking intense anger across the community.

Addressing journalists during the protest, the Assembly Member for the area, Hon. James Adomako, appealed to the police administration to intervene swiftly to ensure the incident receives the requisite high-level attention.

He stressed that the community insists on full accountability from all security officers allegedly linked to the shooting, warning that any personnel established to be culpable must be made to face the full rigours of the law without compromise.

Echoing the call, several residents urged the IGP to sanction a thorough, transparent, and impartial investigation to uncover the truth behind the killing and ensure those responsible answer for their actions.

Meanwhile, police have reportedly taken one suspect into custody in connection with the incident, while the body of Misark Addo has been deposited at St. Martin’s Catholic Hospital mortuary for autopsy and further medical examination.
