The Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Malik Basintale, has disclosed that the agency successfully engaged 100,628 young persons across Ghana as of 30 September 2026.
Speaking at the Government Accountability Series, Mr Basintale noted that the total workforce recruited so far represents approximately 75.7 per cent of the agency’s set target for the current operational year.
Highlighting the agency’s performance trajectory, the YEA Chief Executive revealed that current employment figures reflect a remarkable 566.67 per cent increase compared to the level of youth engagement he inherited upon assuming office in January 2025.
In addition to expanding recruitment numbers, Mr Basintale pointed out that beneficiary welfare has received significant attention under his leadership, with monthly allowances paid to young workers seeing a 60 per cent boost during his administration.
The agency continues to roll out youth-focused initiatives aimed at curbing unemployment rates and offering practical skill development programs for young job seekers nationwide.
