Moses Abor, the Greater Accra Regional Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has declared that the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) promised to give Ghanaians heaven but has instead delivered hell.
He stated that the party promised to make “honey drop on the tongues” of Ghanaians during their campaign, but citizens have experienced nothing but bitterness.
Appearing on the weekend morning show on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, the politician noted that Ghanaians trusted the NDC to deliver on their promises, but the party has failed to do so. He claimed that the NDC lied their way into power and that Ghanaians have now realised they were deceived.
Responding to questions regarding the organisational challenges facing the NPP in the Greater Accra Region, Mr Abor acknowledged that internal issues negatively impacted the party during the 2024 general elections. He explained that many NPP followers refused to vote after feeling betrayed, particularly when certain government appointees failed to support them when they needed assistance, creating an opportunity for the NDC to capitalise on the situation.
He admitted that everyone is aware of what transpired in 2024, noting that things did not go well because appointees did not pay attention to party members or help them when engaged. Consequently, some supporters abstained from voting, while others bought into the NDC’s promise of “heaven on earth.” However, he stressed that those supporters have now seen through the lies.
Looking ahead, Moses Abor expressed strong confidence in the NPP’s prospects for 2028, stating that over two million people who abstained from voting in 2024 were NPP supporters. He revealed that the party is actively engaging these voters, reassuring them that the challenges faced in the past will no longer persist.
He added that the Greater Accra Region remains the key game-changer for the NPP to secure a decisive victory in the next general elections. He expressed optimism that he holds the key to securing regional victory for the NPP, which will ultimately pave the way for a national triumph.
