Full academic activities have resumed at Obuasi Senior High Technical School (Obuasi SHTS) for both continuing and new students, following assurances from the Ministry of Education that claims of sexual abuse involving 19 female students will be thoroughly addressed.
Government officials have affirmed that the allegations involving the interdicted school headmaster will be pursued rigorously through both administrative procedures and legal channels to ensure justice is delivered and the victims remain protected.
In a statement to journalists, the Minister of Education insisted that the authorities will strictly adhere to legal protocols, ensuring that no aspect of the probe is hidden or standard procedures breached.
“Be assured that we will follow through… and justice will be done and justice will be seen to have been done,” the Minister stressed.
To oversee support measures and assess the situation firsthand, the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Dr Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, alongside the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Prof. Ernest Kofi Davis, have dispatched to Obuasi.
Addressing concerns over public investigations fading over time, the Minister reassured the public that this enquiry will not be allowed to die down like other cases that dominate media discussions and later fizzle out.
He noted, however, that due process will be followed and all interested parties must allow the law to take its course.
